Sweet fairies ~

Please be careful where you tread,
The fairies are about,
Last night when I had gone to bed,
I heard them creeping out.
And wouldn't it be a dreadful thing
To do a fairy harm?
To crush a little delicate wing,
Or bruise a tiny arm?
They're all about the place, I know,
So do be careful where you go.

Little visual treats are constant inspiration ~

A tiny little peek at what I'm working on . . .

Do you display the things you love? Those items you have safely tucked away? Pull them out, pour them in a beautiful bowl, place them under a glass cloche, mound them in a beautiful open box so your eyes will fall on them every day.
If it makes you smile, if it takes your breath, if you look for them everytime you go treasure hunting....display them so you can soak up that goodness each and every day ~

Wishing you a beautiful Friday ~ xxoo, Dawn

These are so good the recipe's worth sharing again ~

I believe that I've shared this one with you way back in the beginning of my blogging but I love it so much I want to give it to you again. This recipe is perfect when you are having company, graduation parties or receptions ~ (the picture is from a recipe so very similar, they've added mini marshmallows though)

Frozen Fruit Cups

1 - 8 oz. pkg. softened cream cheese

1/2 cup sugar

1 - 10 oz. jar cherries, drained

1 - 11 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained

1 - 8 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained

1/2 cup pecan pieces

1 - 8 oz. container of frozen cool whip

Combine cream cheese, sugar and mix in fruit until fluffy. Set aside 9 cherries and cut in half. Set aside 18 orange slices. Add pineapple, pecans and the rest of the cherries, chopped. Mix together with cream cheese mixture. Fold in whipped topping and oranges. Spoon into silver foil cupcake lines. Garnish with cherries and oranges. Place on a large tray and freeze. Makes 18 cups.

Images for you, my sweet blog friends!

Happy Thursday!! I scanned in some wonderful old images ~ the first two are from an old children's book I have from 1887! I love the two puppies in the chair together and the woman is just beautiful to me ~ you may have to blur her a bit in your photo software. The third one is a cute little fairy illustration and poem I love from another old children's book. The last photo is a sweet mother and child ~ just click to enlarge, right click and slide to and left click on "save image or save picture as", choose where on your computer you'd like to store it and save!

Friends are the flowers in the garden of life ~

I received the most wonderful mail today ~ Tracey from Notes from A Cottage Industry sent me a precious friend package ~ what a sweet surprise!! We both try to encourage one another to be all that we can be, step out of our comfort zones and achieve our bliss!!

Peeling back the pretty tissue and seeing a glimpse of precious pink leather made my heart jump! I can remember seeing these sweet ballet shoes on her blog and here they are in my home!!! Plus a beautiful tag in the shape of angel wings and the most gorgeous rhinestone necklace. Thank you so very much Tracey ~ you know me well and I will indeed make something from these pretties!!

The beautiful bag from my tiny shopping spree at Paris Market ~ I've found that I'm so happy with the smallest of things now. Trinkets, papers, old photos . . . The letters are from @Home - Vintage General ~ I love that they look old.

Below that, some of nature's gifts from the streets of Savannah! I love having these tidbits to use in assemblages. I'm still finishing up some projects that I'm doing for publication.....but soon will be adding to my Etsy store again!!!

Just a few more shots of Savannah ~
I promise that's it though :)

Don't know why I'm so tired but I am ~ maybe it's because I'm not used to getting out much!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends ~
xxoo, Dawn

A scary haunted house . . .

A wall of gravestones that have lost their place and now stand along a wall in the cemetery ~

Just how many photos can one post hold?? Let's see . . .

Our last day in Savannah was wonderful! Brent took David and Chase bass fishing and Dennis, Emily, Brad, Noah and myself went to downtown Savannah. We started at another gorgeous cemetery ~ some markers looked like beds to me!!

Now off to old downtown Savannah to see the amazing Paris Market & Brocante! It was WONDERFUL!!! I found a few small bags of baubles for artwork, and a B&W photo and a small linen sack for lavender buds ~ and the most wonderful thing?? I'm shopping and someone calls my name, and it's not my family!! It's Zori, a customer and blog reader of mine!! How cool is that? She was such a sweetheart and it was so very nice to meet you Zori ~ thank you again so much for buying my artwork!!! (click all photos to enlarge)

The next few photos are of a shop Emily just knew I would love, and she was right!!! I tried to give you an idea of what they have to offer. The name of the store is @Home - Vintage General ~ The owner is working on selling from her website now. You can visit her blog HERE.... It finally hit me that I've read about this wonderful store in several magazines!!!

The Lady and Sons Restaurant!

The house from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil ~

Our last stop was this breathtaking Catholic Church. I'm not Catholic but the beauty inside and out was remarkable ~

I hope you enjoyed my last day ~ and I still could have added more photos!!!

Have a wonderful Tuesday,

xxoo, Dawn
