Beautiful things and such thoughtfulness ~

I can't help myself.....I absolutely love everything pretty!!!
Of course, you know I love rusty, chippy and old
(plus busted, jacked up, unloved) too but
pretty supplies always make me smile ~

I entered a giveaway a few weeks ago at Junkin' Gypsies and
didn't really win but look what these precious girls,
Jill and Lemay, sent to me anyway!!!!!

A beautiful handmade journal, that has the most gorgeous ephemera
stashed away inside....I love that they used glassine envelopes for several
of the pages ~ they hold sweet images and treasures!

And a precious, wooden treasure box filled with more wonderful goodies!

Look at the gorgeous seam binding wrapped around the tags.....
such thoughtful packaging, don't you think?

Beautiful antique buttons and you know how much I love watch faces!!!

A precious strand of beautiful, old pearls....a sweet pin....and wonderful old coins ~

I love mica flakes and look at this teeny jar they're in!

A couple of small vials filled with buttons and teeny rosebuds ~

Can you see the beautiful image gifts through the glassine envelopes?

Jill and Lemay, thank you SO, SO MUCH!!!!
So many precious gifts you've given me ~
I absolutely love them all dear friends!!!!!

My mom and dad stopped by for a weekend visit a week ago
on the way to my brother's house in NC.
They came back through Atlanta and stayed overnight to
break up their trip back to their home in the North Georgia mountains....
and I just have to show you what they brought me!!!

They visited a mill outlet of some kind on their journey and
found me gobs of wonderful cotton lace ~ just the kind I love too!!!!
They've seen my artwork and I guess remembered my taste :)
I won't tell you the incredible prices they paid for these 'cause you might cry
but I'm just so thankful to them for thinking of me!!!!

My creativity has been a teeny bit stifled this week.
I've been getting Noah ready to go on a summer youth trip to Florida
and it seems the studio keeps getting shoved to the end of the line
but now he's on his way to fun and sun
so maybe I can finish a few projects!!

Oh and did you guess the word of the day?
Teeny
Why do I overuse certain words??  :)

I hope you have a beautiful Friday my sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Well Dawn

I think that teeny is a great word:) And boy did you "win" even if you really didn't - boyah! What wonderful thoughtfulness indeed!Everything is beautiful without even doing anything with it - can't wait to see what you do do with it.

Enjoy your weekend!

What attention to detail from Jill and Lemay. It makes me want to try harder in my little craft room! Sweet gifts all.

And when your mama gets it (and your papa is just along for the ride ☺)...you must feel so validated. Because it doesn't matter if the rest of the world "gets it" if your parents don't. I love that gift of laces. Precious, precious because it represents so much more than lace.

Have a happy kid-free (?) day!

Beautiful, Dawn! It looks like you were a winner after all! : ) Love the book and the box. The box gives me an idea to redo the box I was doing for my granddaughter that got kind of messed up. I will have to look for one of these at Michaels and decorate it for her instead.
