Five. 0.

It's finally here.
I've been thinking about it a lot this year.
Thinking of how my body has changed so over the years....
and that even my face has changed.
Under my jaws are these saggy things that have appeared
that weren't there before!!!

I had to have dental work this past year and not just your
typical stuff either! We're talking replacements!!!
But I'm so thankful, that as expensive as it is,
I was able to have it done ~

It's funny though...
that as I reach this numerical milestone,
in my mind,
I still think of myself as that nineteen year old...
soon to be married,
and so excited about the time ahead of me!!!

Time passes so quickly,
my babies have arrived and grown into men,
and here I am.
One thankful girl!!!!
No matter what age I am,
I am thankful for each and every minute
I have been given on this earth ~
to enjoy my childhood, with my mama, daddy and brothers ~
then with my precious husband and our thirty plus year marriage and
the gift of our five sweet sons.
And now to have the gift of a granddaughter?
That's the icing!!!!!!
Whatever's left from here on out is the icing......
don't you think?!!!!!

Thank you always for stopping by here,
for reading my thoughts and for leaving yours!!!
love you all so much,
Dawn

Happy Birthday sweet Dawn! You know I was just thinking about how much my body has changed and how I wonder how it happened! When yesterday I swear I was just 20 years old! :) But body shape aside, I am really happy and thankful what I do have!
Many more blessed years to you, dear girl!
Love and hugs,
Sonya

Happy Birthday, Dawn! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one wondering how or why I'm a 19-year-old trapped in a 48 year-old body! It seems like only yesterday that I got married or spent Christmas with my own young children. Now, here I am having spent Christmas with my 17 month old granddaughter!

I just turned 50 also....8 years ago! The last 8 years have flown by as does time the older you get, and I think that is why we feel so happy to be able to enjoy each day we have on this earth. It does seem like yesterday I was that 19 yr old too so excited to be marrying my handsome fiance. Next year it will be 40 years and I have had a very blessed life! Like you said everything now is the "icing"!~Hugs, Patti

What a wonderful post! I was talking with a friend about this very thing, how we change sooo much as we age, and mostly not for the better ;) But the reward is we do get much wiser. Love your photos, brilliant!

Yes I think everything from here on out is indeed icing on the cake, the sweetest part of life. We know how to relax, savor, and enjoy it, a lesson that takes many years to learn I think.

Hope your day is a happy one!

Hi precious friend,
Look at all the people who turned out to wish you a happy day! Look who's at the bottom of the list, LOL. You know I get what your saying. It seems one year ago I was smoking a Virgina slim and rocking out to Journey. Now I'm an old lady with 3 kids! You are beautiful Dawn, you've made a beautiful life for your family & you generously share it with us. Enjoy those wrinkles & grey hairs because you earned every one of them!

PS I thought the doll had frosting on her face in the last pic!
